jack the dragon

The first time I photographed Jack, he was about 5 or 6 months old and I was about 8 months and 29 days pregnant with my 3rd baby. I'm sure I was quite a sight rolling around, hugely pregnant, trying to get him to smile at me. I've now had five sessions with this little cutie, and he amazed me the other day by speaking to me. In complete, real sentences! Like a big kid, not that same little baby from a few years ago. Sniff, sniff.

Each fall his mom brings his halloween costume to wear for part of the session. This dragon (from Pottery Barn Kids, so you know it is cute) was so adorable and none of us could stop laughing at him running around in it. The best part was when he went running, little green dragon arms flapping in the air, towards a group of middle schoolers on a field trip, who were all looking at him with faces that words just really cannot describe.

The second best part was when Jack REALLY got into character, and decided to take a little bite out of my leg (no worries: it was more like a firm nibble and it didn't even leave a bruise.) His mom and I joked that we were glad my inaugural being-bitten-by-a-kid-other-than-my-own experience could be with Jack.

Jack turns three this week. Happy birthday, little man!
